The plane made contact with the tug as it was attempting to cross a taxiway. The impact caused the tug to flip over, trapping the 64-year-old driver underneath. Authorities confirmed that the driver sustained head and lower body injuries. He was rushed to a local hospital in critical condition but has since been stabilized.
No passengers aboard the flight were injured. After the aircraft, which had safely arrived from another airport, was cleared, passengers deplaned and were safely escorted to the terminal.
An investigation is underway by local authorities and aviation officials to determine the cause of the collision.
